Vizcaya with dog in depth

In Vizcaya you will find some of the most beautiful places to visit in the Cantabrian coast. No matter what the weather is like, it’s always a pleasure to take a stroll along the steep cliffs in the coastline or the green mountain paths this province has to offer.

Dogs and humans will chose between a wide array of options to avoid boredom. If you feel like doing some good old tourism, a place you can’t miss is San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, an astonishing little island with a picturesque church on top of it, accesible from the mainland only through a tight staircase with 241 steps. If you’re feeling adventurous, you and your dog will love it!

In the coast you will also find a traditional symbol of the area, the Puente Colgante, a hanging metal bridge that connect Getxo and Portugalete, two towns in each river bank of the Ría de Bilbao. Precisely, Getxo is a great place to regain some lost energy eating some pintxos in its numerous dog-friendly bar and restaurants in Getxo.

If on the contrary you feel like visiting a more crowded and urban area, how about going to Bilbao? You’ll find plenty of Dog Vivant businesses that will receive your dog and you with open arms.

To end the day, nothing like resting in one of the numerous dog allowing hotels in Vizcaya. What are you waiting for?
